Standing with Our Veterans and Their Families

Our military veterans — and the families who support them — have given this nation their courage, service, and sacrifice. In return, they deserve more than gratitude; they deserve a system that meets them with compassion, honors their needs, and helps them thrive after service. There’s no clear message of: “Thank you for your service — now we’re here for you.” Too often, returning veterans face bureaucratic roadblocks, outdated systems, and a lack of coordinated support that makes reintegration into civilian life harder than it should be. As your representative, I will fight to:

  • Fully fund and modernize the VA to serve veterans with the respect they have earned through timely, high-quality care and services.
  • Expand access to affordable housing, healthcare, and mental health care, especially for those at risk of homelessness or PTSD.
  • Streamline the benefits process to reduce claim delays that add stress to an already difficult transition by removing red tape and eliminating unnecessary hurdles.
  • Invest in job training and career placement programs help veterans build strong futures by connecting them with good-paying, purpose-driven work, particularly those aligned with their military training and skillset.
  • Strengthen family support services for spouses and children — the unsung heroes of military life.
  • Launch a “Glad You’re Home” initiative co-designed with local veterans to welcome and support returning service members in the 13th District.
  • Host an annual Veterans Check-In Day at my District Office to provide direct services, listen to concerns, and make sure no veteran falls through the cracks.
